Squamata: Colubridae
Dendrelaphis punctulata
I was standing out in the sun on a very hot day trying to photograph dragonflies with no success. I thought I would stand under a nearby tree for shade and then changed my mind as a Common Tree Snake popped out of the greenery.
The Common Tree Snake had its eye on a lizard some three metres below and tried dropping out of the tree onto the lizard. The lizard was quite alert and was nowhere to be seen by the time the snake arrived. The snake appeared to have winded itself in the drop and took some time to move on.
